Australia OOH Industry Posts Double-Digit Growth in 2025, Driven by Digital Expansion
Australia’s out-of-home (OOH) advertising industry recorded solid full-year results for 2025, with net media revenue rising 11.43% year-on-year to $1,449.5 million, up from $1,300.8 million in 2024. The growth reflects sustained demand across key formats and a continued structural shift toward digital inventory.
Category performance remained broadly strong. Roadside billboards continued to lead the market, generating $591.5 million in 2025, compared with $536.2 million a year earlier. Roadside other formats, including street furniture and bus or tram externals, reached $321.8 million. Retail, lifestyle and other environments contributed $314.1 million, while transport media, including airports, rose sharply to $222.2 million from $172.5 million in 2024.
The category comparison chart illustrates that all segments posted year-on-year growth, with transport media showing the most pronounced increase, supported by the recovery in travel demand and airport activity. At the same time, roadside formats maintained stable expansion, highlighting their continued role as the backbone of Australia OOH industry.
Digital out-of-home (DOOH) remained the dominant driver of revenue growth, accounting for 76.6% of total net media revenue in 2025, up from 74.9% in 2024. The increasing share of digital reflects advertisers’ growing preference for flexible, data-driven and programmatic campaigns.
