JOLT Charge Expands Canadian DOOH and EV Charging Network to Ottawa, Surrey and Hamilton

JOLT Charge (JOLT), a digital out-of-home (DOOH) and electric vehicle charging network, has expanded into Ottawa, Surrey and Hamilton, increasing its Canadian presence to 10 markets and 50 digital advertising screens.

The expansion builds on JOLT’s existing operations in Toronto, Calgary, Milton, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Mississauga and Pickering. The company said its Canadian network has more than doubled over the past year, with each location selected based on both EV charging demand and advertising value.

JOLT combines EV charging infrastructure with roadside digital screens, giving advertisers access to audiences travelling through high-traffic urban locations while also reaching EV drivers during charging sessions.

According to JOLT network data for the 12 months through July 2026, charging sessions in Canada increased 225% year-on-year, while the number of individual drivers using the network rose 183%. Drivers spent an average of 36 minutes per charging session.

The company said the model gives advertisers two forms of exposure: broad roadside visibility to passing motorists and pedestrians, and longer dwell time among EV users at charging locations.

“For advertisers, the value isn’t simply having more inventory, it’s having the right inventory,” said 브렌던 딜런 (Brendan Dillon), Head of Revenue, North America at JOLT. “Our network is built around premium roadside locations with exceptional circulation, creating opportunities for brands to reach large audiences in places where people naturally pay attention.”

Surrey, British Columbia, is one of the key markets in the latest rollout. The city is among Canada’s fastest-growing major urban areas and is projected to surpass Vancouver in population by 2038, according to Metro Vancouver population projections.

British Columbia is also one of Canada’s leading markets for electric vehicle adoption. Zero-emission vehicles accounted for 22.5% of new vehicle registrations in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to S&P Global Mobility data cited by Electric Autonomy.

JOLT’s expansion is supported by a C$194 million partnership with the Canada Infrastructure Bank, which is helping finance the deployment of 1,500 additional EV charging stations across Canadian urban centres.

Ottawa, Surrey, Milton and Hamilton are among the latest markets included in the expansion, with further locations planned as JOLT continues to develop its combined EV charging and DOOH network across Canada.
