K-Heritage Meets AI at Incheon Airport’s K-Culture Museum
Global travelers passing through Incheon International Airport are getting a unique introduction to Korea’s cultural heritage through a new immersive exhibition that combines artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and digital media art.
The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is operating the special exhibition “Tech-Driven Heritage: Great Heritage Evolving Through Technology and Content” at the K-Culture Museum in Terminal 1 until July 28.
Since opening on June 29, the exhibition has attracted more than 30,000 visitors, with total attendance expected to reach 60,000 by the end of the event.
Located in the airport’s Transportation Center, the K-Culture Museum showcases how Korea’s cultural assets can be reimagined through advanced technologies. Developed in collaboration with the Korea Heritage Agency, the exhibition combines historical accuracy with immersive storytelling.
A large-scale media façade installation, “From Nature,” uses AI technology to reinterpret UNESCO World Heritage and natural heritage sites while illustrating the origins of traditional crafts such as ceramics, furniture, hanbok, and metalwork.
Among the highlights is “Heritage In Bloom,” a media art piece inspired by traditional Korean architecture and decorative patterns. The work was selected for the iF Design Award 2026 and previously featured at the Korea Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka.
Visitors can also experience Korea’s first digital recreation of mother-of-pearl lacquerware and explore immersive exhibitions based on the royal culture of the Joseon Dynasty. Interactive displays bring to life King Jeongjo’s royal procession and historic royal ceremonies recorded in the Uigwe, Korea’s UNESCO-listed royal protocols.
Admission is free for all airport passengers. KOCCA said the exhibition demonstrates the growing global potential of technology-driven cultural content while offering international travelers a memorable introduction to Korea’s rich heritage.
