Lotte and Hyundai Redefine Incheon Airport Duty Free Landscape
Seoul’s Incheon International Airport is set for a significant retail transformation as Lotte Duty Free and Hyundai Duty Free assume control of key duty free zones from mid April 2026.
The change follows the exit of previous operators who faced sustained financial losses, highlighting the structural pressures within global travel retail. The new operators are expected to bring fresh capital, operational efficiency, and renewed strategic focus to one of Asia’s busiest aviation hubs.
Both companies plan to introduce carefully curated brand portfolios alongside enhanced digital infrastructure. This includes data driven merchandising, personalized marketing, and upgraded in store technologies aimed at improving passenger engagement and conversion rates.
