Seoul Incheon Airport Rises to World’s No. 3 Mega Hub by Capacity

Seoul Incheon International Airport has become the world’s third largest mega hub airport following completion of its Phase 4 expansion in December 2024.

According to figures shown in newly released Incheon International Airport Corporation, Incheon Airport can now accommodate 106 million passengers annually, placing it behind only Hong Kong International Airport and Dubai International Airport.

Hong Kong International Airport ranks first with annual capacity of 120 million passengers, while Dubai International Airport is second with capacity of 115 million passengers.

The expansion marks a major milestone for Incheon Airport as it strengthens its position among the world’s leading aviation hubs and increases its ability to serve growing global travel demand.

With the latest capacity upgrade, Incheon joins a select group of airports able to handle more than 100 million passengers a year, underlining its strategic importance as a gateway connecting Asia and the wider world.
