Clear Channel CEO: OOH Remains the Last True Mass-Reach Medium
Clear Channel CEO Says Data Is Unlocking the Full Value of Out of Home
Out of home advertising is strengthening its position in the modern media mix as better data and measurement help advertisers understand its real business impact, according to Dan Levi, CEO of Clear Channel Outdoor.
Speaking during a leadership session organized by the Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) and Beet.TV at Cannes 2026, Levi described OOH as one of the last advertising channels capable of delivering large-scale reach across cities and public spaces.
He pointed to Clear Channel Outdoor’s extensive network in New York City as an example of how OOH remains closely connected to everyday urban life. Unlike many digital channels, OOH reaches people as they travel, work, shop and move through physical environments.
Levi said the industry is entering another stage of evolution as data improves audience targeting, planning and measurement. OOH’s physical scale remains its core strength, while stronger data is helping marketers connect that visibility with measurable campaign performance.
The shift reflects a broader industry trend in which OOH is increasingly viewed not simply as a traditional awareness medium, but as a measurable part of an omnichannel advertising strategy.
